scanner error

The PaperPort software cannot detect the printer to scanner, and other similar software meet the same problem.
When I use Xerox Companion - Director to scan, it shows " scanner error"

It is too complicated to use. I replaced cartridge and had to insert a chip only to find there was nothing wrong with the old cartridge. I still until now
cant get it to print black. I only get grey.
So feeling really stupid now.
Bought a Lexmark ink jet and it works well while this printer has become a white elephant.

Nice, but why this product does not have support for Mac OS X 10.7.? :(

It is a bad Jam paper printer, it always jam the paper, even if i want to print 30 pages i must open and close the toner area several times just to avoid jamming
you have to adjust paper positions in a very bad plastic tray, the plastic is very weak and not easy to adjust or align paper through.
I strongly dis recommend this printer

The problem with the jamming paper, appears mostly because of the quality of the paper used,,,
If you use low end quality paper, and you get this problem, try using better paper, if you already use good paper, then its a problem with the machine, and you need to take it back to the store.

Very slow printing, jams a lot. The scanner feeder doesn't work properly. After two year of home use (minimal) HSINC ERROR has occurred and the whole thing is pretty useless.

I would strongly advise against buying this product. It seems that Xerox needs to spend more time testing their products. The latest problem occured when I replaced the cartridge - a message" Insert the toner card" appeared on the printer.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing a problem replacing the print cartridge on your Phaser 3100MFP. Just in case, here are directions for doing so, which includes using the smart card: http://xrx.sm/BKr.

If you are following those steps, and the message continues to appear, I would recommend you call our Customer Relations Group at 877-979-8498 to determine what the issue may be. Hopefully this helps.

Smart Card Prevents from printing more than 2000 p

When I bought the printer nobody said that I would not be able to print untill the toner was finished, instead the printer says that the cartrige must be replaced even if there is toner in the cartrage,
I purchased a new cartrage and kept the old toner in the printer using the new smart card, I WAS ABLE TO PRINT AN ADDITIONAL 700 PAGES!!! but due to this was only able to use 1300 pages of the full toner...
So how can i use the toner that I have left without purchasing a new one with the smart card?
Even if I only print one letter on a page this is seen as 1 count?
for the price you pay for the toner you would expect to be able to use it better....

Ever since our company received the 3100MFP we had nothing but problems with it. The machine was very slow and almost immediately stopped it's copy function. It came to the point where all we used it for was as a fax machine until that too stopped working and the machine had to be replaced.
I like Xerox products and have nothing, but nice things to say about most of them. This was just wasn't up to the usual standards.

it cannot work with Mac OS 10.6 ( current Mac OS) and Xerox will not develop a driver for it in spite of my MANY requests. Lack of compatibility is not disclosed before purchase.
No wireless built in.
I cannot rate 0 or Negative stars

i have this printer and i cant make it work with mac 10.6
there are no drivers for it...
what should i do for that.....
where is the support of xerox...???
