I just read some of the reviews of recent and had to comment. The M20i is a great little MFP and one of the first for its time. I have a fleet of over 100 Xerox printers and used this printer for our secretaries for the past six years and love this printer. The technology changes so rapidly an MFP can't survive 20 years anymore as the features and functionality just keeps making leaps and bounds. I would suggest this printer for any small business as it still performs adequately in a small business environment. I simply replaced my Xerox M20i with the Xerox 3635 as Xerox continues to make advancements but more importantly provides the best support mechanism of the all big manufactures.

Had a wonderful Xerox copier and it lasted me almost 20 years, (and it still works) but we decided to get an All-In-One unit with a document feeder, Copier, Fax, Email, and Network Printing.
Wanting to stay with Xerox since we had such good luck, we opted for the WorkCentre M20i. We thought it would be as good or better as our wonderful old Xerox copier, but we were sadly mistaken.
This new unit appears to have been manufactured with more plastic than metal, but then again I guess they need to save money on shipping it in from the foreign country it was manufactured in.
No one will tell you this until it's too late, so BUYER BEWARE!!! Do NOT replace the toner cartridge until the display tells you to do so. Xerox in their feeble attempt to prevent you from refilling the toner cartridges and force you to buy the higher cost Xerox toner installs an internal Fuse Link within the toner cartridge that burns out and renders the toner cartridge USELESS after so many copies. So if you decide to insert a new toner cartridge before the display tells you to, the machine will send the "Kiss of Death" to the fuse link and render a brand new VERY EXPENSIVE toner cartridge unusable.
We had issues getting the email portion of the unit to correctly operate, and the email scanning and sending is sooooooo slow.
The printer aspect was also a problem right out of the gate. If you want to print a multi page document, the printer will only print one page at a time, NOT the entire job. It pauses between pages to "think" Also, we were forced to download different drivers from the Xerox website which was interesting since you need to navigate a huge maze of webpages just to find the correct file. Who would have thought that the printer driver that it comes with isn't the "Best" driver to use for printing.
The fax portion of our unit failed completely after only a short period of time and had to be replaced under warranty. Then the replacement failed again, this time we could only SEND faxes but NOT RECEIVE them. For a business who gets loads of faxed orders, that was a huge issue for us. It took three days the second time to get the fax part of it finally up and running.
The copier wasn't an issue at first, but lately it has been prone to paper jams.
Service calls for us have taken "Days" not hours. You first need to answer one million questions over the telephone before they will send out a service technician. It just felt like they were trying to do anything they could to prevent the field service people from actually coming out. Several service technicians have told me they are SEVERELY understaffed due to cut backs, layoffs, and forced retirements. Less people covering a larger service area and more customers.
Overall, I guess you get what you pay for. If you are looking for a cheaper small home unit, then I guess this is your choice. If have to REALLY have to depend on it, then you may want to do some further research.
Bottom line, I am very disappointed with the current Xerox quality and Service.
No, I would not recommend this to others.

Sorry, I hate to post bad reviews, but this printer is the bane of my existence. Half the time, it will not fax, and simply displays, "delay fax" in the display, and you have to cycle the power of the machine on and off, then it will send the fax, BUT then it holds the phone line open (off the hook) and if you must cycle the power again to get it to release the phone line. If you forget, you suddenly realize hours later that you are not getting any phone calls. But, there are several other issues, when you dial the keypad, it will often "double dial" so that one number is selected twice, and unless you are watching the display like a hawk it is easy to miss and it will dial a wrong number. Also, the feeder constantly jams if there are more than a few sheets loaded. Overall, after my experience with this machine, I would definitely never buy one again, and in fact I will probably never buy a Xerox of any type again.
No, I would not recommend this to others.
