Our WorkCentre 6400 has good print quality, yet it takes some doing to get to that point. For a busy office on time constraints, this is most likely not the machine for you. Each process the 6400 provides has relevant importance, yet the steps required to utilize those options mandate constant confirmation that can be cumbersome.
Tray 1 of the unit is extremely sensitive to the paper types used and can be frustrating to navigate.
We have had periodic service issues, but in relationship to the amount of use, I would say those are overall minimal in volume.
For a slower paced office, this may be a great option.

We've had this WorkCentre for 2 years now and it worked fine for the first 2-3 months. Since then, we have had nothing but problems. The Fax feature randomly stops working, randomly the WorkCentre won't accept any jobs because it's "busy" (even though its not running any jobs and its been sitting idle for hours), the feed try for scanning always "jams" or "can't feed" the paper for unkown reasons (everything lines up correctly and it worked for the job before). The print quality is good, the speed is good, but more than 50% of the time the device is unusable for unknown reasons that seem to be software bugs.
No, I would not recommend this to others.

My firm purchased 5 of these units along with a high end Xerox copier and a few higher end Xerox black and white printers and have been very happy with as it has really helped with office efficiency and processing in so many ways. In addition, we have been able to dramatically reduce our toner cost over the last year with these units. Our office has also enjoyed the we now all share the same interface no matter which Xerox machine we go to saving a lot of time and support cost.

The WorkCentre 6400 does every task I ask with ease and continues to impress me with the excellent color printouts. I print manuals, with hundreds of pages, and can upload the job to the printer for repeating. These printouts typically have no errors.
This is simply the best mufti-function printer I have ever owned.
I would recommend this to others.

When our organization first purchased this unit, it was broken. After a lengthy return process, we received our second unit that worked for three weeks before it started jamming and smearing print and copy jobs. This machine has been nothing but a pain. When it did work, the print and copy quality was acceptable, but the user interface was not "user friendly." The touchscreen was overly sensitive and frustrated the staff to where they would not use the unit at all.
I was satisfied with the Xerox support team (very friendly and knowledgeable about the product),but I was not happy with the options that they had offered. With the labor and parts cost, we may as well buy a new unit--which we will not do. Xerox has lost our business. I hope we are the isolated incident, but this is a warning to all who consider buying this product.

We had this for about 2 months and have yet to complete one job without this copier jamming up. I tried different drawers and it still doesn't matter.

Bought this unit for the high speed scanning. Was not very easy to setup and required an outside specialist. After the setup was completed I am very happy, I scan over 100 pages daily. Copy quality is great and color prints are sharp. There is an ongoing issue with the toner cartridge contacts, but is covered by warranty and techs are quick to come. This aside I would still recommend this for purchase.
I would recommend this to others.

The WorkCentrre 6400 is the best printer I have ever owned. It's ease of use, speed and quality have shown me why Xerox is such a respected company. The colors are crisp and beautiful. The scan speed is unsurpassed. The copying functions work flawlessly.
I work at a printing company whereby quality is appreciated. I now have a whole building printing to my printer (yes...I bought this for my personal needs). I always wanted the "best of the best" and I now have one. This printer will last me a long time as it's features are outstanding.
Every try to print on heavy bond? No problem with the manual feed. Brochures, graphics and CAD drawings look superior from this printer.
Once in a while I get to purchase a very good piece of equipment. This is one of those times.
I would recommend this to others.

Love the unit. The print quality is great. The start up time is very slow however and the toner is rather expensive.

This is an awesome machine that has friendly operating system on it. You can scan to email, scan to ftp, smb etc. You can also change all the settings right at your console. X model is worth for every penny.
I would recommend this to others.

Our company purchased this WorkCentre 6400 in December of 2010. It has maybe worked 70% of the time since it's delivery. We have spent dozens of hours and nearly a thousand dollars trying to make it function. The machine is not easy to use or easy to figure out what is wrong with it when it just stops working. It is very difficult and very expense to order parts and supplies and virtually no customer service offered.
No, I would not recommend this to others.

This printer has too many valuable features that are very hard to access. I have not found in Xerox a good support on the useage of this printer.

User interface at the printer itself could not be any easier to navigate. The color menuing system and the touch screens are right on! The touch screen could be problematic if you have large hands like I do at first but after a few uses I learned the sweet spots to touch. A very hard working machine overall.
Cons
Great Networking interface but the menus are not for the every day user in the web based admin portal.
Replacement cartriges are not cheap. Make sure that you plan and budget accordingly.
Tip:
Get the extra paper trays!
I would recommend this to others.

No you really don't want to know my opinion of xerox 6400 copier. We've had it for a short period of time and had more service calls on this one machine than the other two costco copiers that we used for 4 years. At this point in time we are currently waiting on a service call we placed more than 2 weeks ago. Our sales rep is on a first name basis will all 28 of my employee's just because of the amount of time spent here trying to fix this pile of junk.Other than that Mrs Lincoln enjoyed the play and I am happy with your product.

We have 5 of these units throughout our company. The only drawback we have had is that personnel don't pay attention to the difference between toner cartridges and imaging units. Extremely important that all users are completely aware of how to change these out to avoid damaged items and wasted supplies. : ) Otherwise, these color units have worked well in our lab.
I would recommend this to others.

While the WorkCentre 6400 allows a multifunctional device at an average cost, the unit is not for those offices that require speedy results.
The machine is loud in comparison to other similar equipment.
Print is clear in both color & Black & White.
Scanning is simple and quick (to both individual addresses and groups).
Copying regularly has issues with lines appearing through the work. It is also incredibly slow especially from the rest mode. The unit is ultra sensitive when trying to copy from the screen instead of the feeder & will view material as oversized when it isn't.

The machine does what we want with reasonable speed and clear printing. I do wish that when one of the color cartridges quits the machine would still print in shades of grey instead of refusing to work at all.
We love the address book features!

I had trouble getting the machine to scan to my computer. I had to call an IT person and pay a separate fee to get the scan feature to work. There is still a glitch but I have a work around for the problem. The cost to operate is more than I expected because even though I bought the machine I have to pay for the number of copies and scans. So I purchased a separate scanner, an additional cost that I did not anticipate.
